2008/08/09 News: Internet service has been restored! Weather systems are mostly back online, although some adjustments need to be made.
Wartburg Nights alternate night will be August 16th.
2008/08/04 News: We're still without internet at the observatory, but hope to be back online in a week or so. Repairs are progressing, and we hope to be fully functional by the beginning of the school year.
The August 9 Wartburg Nights Open House WILL be held as scheduled (weather permitting)!
2008/07/07 News: The observatory was hit by lightning on June 8. Damage was primarily limited to weather systems, although the research telescope did suffer some electronics damage. We are currently working to restore the weather systems, and hope to have them back on-line by mid/late July. We apologize for the inconvenience!

Wartburg
physics majors are currently working on
minor planet astrometry. This project aims to locate and
track
minor planets (asteroids) in order to refine their orbits. More
