Lab 11: Using Powerpoint

In this lab, you will practice developing a presentation with Microsoft Powerpoint.

You should pick one of the social or ethical issues from chapters 11 through 16 of the text as the focus for your presentation. You may use the book as a starting point, but must have at least one other quality reference (reputable web-site or printed source article). One easy way of approaching the assignment is to simply find an article and present an overview of the material from that article. You must document the source(s) of information in your presentation. (e.g., give sources on the final slide.)

You will turn in the Powerpoint file of your presentation. It should meet the following (somewhat arbitrary) standards:

• The presentation should contain 4 "slides" plus the title page and the sources slide (minimum of 6 total).
• You must use at least one "graphic" element (clipart or image file).
• You must use some elements of drawing.
• You should apply an attractive, uniform design style.
• You should use at least one animation effect (building slide elements or slide transitions) [too many different effects can be very distracting].
• The presentation should be mouse-driven, not automatically timed.

This lab is due via electronic (manhattan) handin midnight Thursday December 6th. This is the final application assignment.
