Course Description for CS249: Introduction to Parallel Processing May 2001

Meeting Times: daily 9:30-11:00 in BHS 221, 11:30-1:00 in BHS 220.

Prerequisite: CS220 or two semesters high-level language programming or instructor consent

Description:.Students will be introduced to the theory and practice of parallel processing. Morning sessions will be devoted to the text material while the afternoon sessions will concentrate on the applications of these principles to lab projects.

Attendance: Attendance will be taken daily. Students with excessive absences may be required to do extra work to demonstrate their mastery of any missed topics. Further, excessive absences will relieve the instructor of any obligation to "catch up" a student through private tutoring.
