Wartburg College Linux Computational Laboratory

Tux
The Wartburg College LCL has linux machines that are available for in-house and remote login.  Students in programming classes will have a user name provided for them that will work on any of the machines in the lab.

The seven computers that you can use to remote login are:
oscar.wartburg.edu
dojo.wartburg.edu
clown.wartburg.edu
loach.wartburg.edu
guppy.wartburg.edu
neon.wartburg.edu
molly.wartburg.edu

If you wish to remote login, there are several files that you will need to install on your computer to do this.

Microsoft Windows users:
Putty:  This is a program that supports Secure SHell (SSH), which is a form of encrypted communication that will allow you to login to a remote computer.

WinSCP:  WinSCP is a freeware SCP (Secure CoPy) client for Windows using SSH. Its main function is safe copying of files between a local and a remote computer. Beyond this basic function, WinSCP manages some other actions with files.

VNC Viewer:  This program will allow you to view the desktop from a computer in the LCL on your local computer.

Macintosh Users:
Files coming soon!

Linux Users:
Typically a VNC client and an SSH client are included with current Linux distributions. Please proceed to linux.wartburg.edu for Linux files and distributions.
