Linux Computational Laboratory

College LCL has linux machines that are available for in-house and remote
login. Students in programming classes will have a user name provided
for them that will work on any of the machines in the lab.
The seven computers that you can use to remote login are:
If you wish to remote login, there are several files that you will need to install on your computer to do this. Microsoft Windows users: Putty: This is a program that supports Secure SHell (SSH), which is a form of encrypted communication that will allow you to login to a remote computer. WinSCP: WinSCP is a freeware SCP (Secure CoPy) client for Windows using SSH. Its main function is safe copying of files between a local and a remote computer. Beyond this basic function, WinSCP manages some other actions with files. VNC Viewer: This program will allow you to view the desktop from a computer in the LCL on your local computer. Macintosh Users: Files coming soon! Linux Users: Typically a VNC client and an SSH client are included with current Linux distributions.
