String Formatting


% operator inserts values into a template string (ala C printf)
<template-string> % (<values>)

"Slots" specify width, precision, and type of value
 %<width>.<precision><type-character>

Examples
>>> "Hello %s %s, you owe %d" % ("Mr.", "X", 10000)
'Hello Mr. X, you owe 10000'

>>> "ans = %8.3f" % (3.14159265)
'ans =    3.142'
